Steve WilliamsSince 1990 Steve has served as an overseas missionary with Mission to the World of the Presbyterian Church in America.  Presently, he resides in New Zealand where he is the MTW New Zealand & Pacific Island Coordinator as well as a ruling elder-at-large in the Grace Presbyterian Church of New Zealand.  In addition, he is a lecturer at Grace Theological College while also serving as the Program Communicator of The Truth Project and The Family Project for Focus on the Family New Zealand.  Dr. Williams is a member of the MTW Asia Pacific Member Care Committee.

Previous to coming to New Zealand, Dr. Williams lived in Germany and Austria where he served as the European Area Care Coordinator for Mission to the World and as the Founder/Director of Barnabas Zentrum, a retreat counseling center for vocational Christian workers located in the Alps mountains of southern Austria.   During missionary service in Europe he lectured throughout the continent and served as adjunct faculty at the Russian Academy of Sciences (Russia), Tyndale Seminary (The Netherlands), The Center for Pastoral Counseling (Belgium), and Regent College (Austria).

Born in Jackson, MS (USA), Steve grew up in Huntsville, AL.  He obtained a Ph.D. from Florida State University with concentrations in both family social science and family therapy.  He also holds a M.A. from Wheaton Graduate School with concentrations in theology and interpersonal relations. He interned at Mississippi State Psychiatric Hospital while also serving as adjunct faculty at Reformed Theological Seminary (Jackson, MS).  Upon completion of his doctorate he became Director of the Family Science Program at Montreat College (Montreat, NC) and was in private practice.

Steve has been married since 1988 to Rita and they have an adult daughter and an adult son.
